OK... a couple of you have asked where the chicken dance came from... and here´s the story...
First Week and ´Chicken Kiev´ is born
Partying in Rio with my Mancunian friends... I soon became known as ´Kiev´ (it kind of sounds like Kev in a weird northern Manc-er accent). That quickly developed into ´Chicken Kiev´*
No sooner than that arrived, it was shortened into the more convenient name of ´Chicken´.
Anyway, before I knew it, I had strangers greeting me as ´Chicken´ (one person even whittily calling me ´Chick Bees´. Ha. Ha. Ha. Please note that a small level of sarcasm is intended here).
Of all the nicknames I thought I would ever have... Chicken would have been last on my mind! (Not unless you were trying to describe my legs, anyway!!!)
It goes one step beyond... I was even given my own brand of chat up lines... the most disgusting of course was to say to a lady... (Mum... Nan & people who are easily offended look away now!)
Do you like Chicken?
When she responds ´Yes´, say;
Then taste this... it´s fowl!
I am sure that would earn me a slap in the giblets at the very least! Thankfully I didn´t try it out!
The Dare
However, one thing I could not backdown from was the dare.
One night, in the middle of a busy Samba dancing club (Brazillian´s take their dancing seriously)... I was dared to chicken dance for 30 seconds, non stop...
... 30 seconds can feel like a life time.... but, much to the suprise of my Mancunian friends... I did it! Again, encountering some weird looks and some smiles...
And, the chicken dance was born. I quite enjoyed it too! Since it made a few people smile... I thought that I would chicken dance my way around the world....
So... here´s me at Itaipu Dam!!!
And plenty more to follow!
You may smile or not... but for now... Chicken Dancing Bees - Out!
- Chicken Kiev is a dish of boned chicken breast pounded and rolled around cold unsalted butter, then breaded and fried. It is also known as Chicken Supreme. As its popularity spread internationally, various seasonings have been added to the butter. It has also been known to contain various fillings such as broccoli and blue cheese sauce. Yum. Yum. Yum.
